Is there a way to use git locally?

This was quite good, OK https://gitforwindows.org/, this not so much: https://desktop.github.com/. But to work with other people, most likely on github which it's very easily integrated with as you'd expect, and for resolving merge conflicts and all the tricky stuff it's harder to see on a local repo alone, you might as well get used to it in my opinion.
