Our original moderation system was very basic there were global mods (the team) that users could opt out of and choose their own(or none) and mods that could be assigned to specific topics by users. Everyone was a mod and no one was. As we moved to our tags and community model we kept the global mods, but now users can join communities that set their own mods and standards. We will remove illegal content we are hosting on our image server, but conceivably in the future nodes will choose what to remove based on their own jurisdictional needs. By moving to a DAO we are hoping to answer the question of what content and standards should the "front page" show, and what should a user just browsing the system see. These standards would apply to the discussions.app domain...where as other domains sharing the same data could have separate rules and priorities. There could be multiple domains and subdomains that have varying standards and focuses. Users could petition the DAO for financial support in running those other domains.
