I just switched to Mac from Windows. I've been able to regain some window management functions of window snapping via Rectangle and window switching via Witch (perfect except for a small delay). In Windows, I had a set of apps pinned to the taskbar, so that WIN+1, 2, 3, 4, 5 were bound to my most often used apps. I work with text across multiple programs, so I like to be able to switch faster than CMD+TAB and Spotlight.
