I think I know somewhat what it is but I could be way off base on that. I know just some basics about how block chains work from looking into the free network project and other decentralized file systems that are intended to prevent censorship among other things as similar to a torrent swarm those are hosted on individual machines in pieces and the more popular a site that's hosted on those file systems is the more copies will be on random machines thus the more resilient that site will b is the short version. The URLs on that system is a hash rather than an HTTPS+example.ccom type like on the internet we're on now. They also have a currency, I don't recall the name, you can google "free network project" and read all about that, or just click that link I've provided.point being just as something interesting is crypto is based on the same concept and encryption just happens to be useful for a lot of things.
