GnuPG

Get yourself a GPG certificate. Commonly known as a key pair. You can generate one with a GPG client for your device. Once you have the key pair, you can either publish your public key online on a key server, or share it with your correspondent when necessary. Your private key, as its title suggests, is to be kept private. Stored only on your device with symmetric encryption (a password).
