That said the last few times I have load tested Drupal I've used Apache jMeter and it was decent, if you are using autoscaling groups on your stack just remember to ramp the traffic at a rate that is slower than the time it takes the autoscaling to bring up a new instance. If you have a decent network connection and plenty of memory you can simulate quite a bit of traffic from a single machine (million+ pageviews an hour).
