This sounds great! Maybe Mopidy is even a better solution for this. Once configured to use Spotify or YouTube, you never have to login again on the Raspberry.. The user can then choose a Client, ranging from Android apps to Console clients to control playback, create playlists, etc.

Mpv is really the best commandline player. You can throw almost anything at it (e.g. YouTube links, Bandcamp releases, SoundCloud tracks, remote files, ...). It's integration of youtube-dl allows streaming (also only audio) from a LOT of sites.
