In this situation, I do have a "padlock icon" on some non-onion websites such as ctemplar.com or protonmail.com Does it mean my login and password are truly safe (no dirty play by an evil exit node) ? Does it not mean anything? Now, if I go directly to an equivalent .onion website of protonmail or ctemplar, there is no padlock icon. Is it less safe? Is in more safe because no exit node is in the play at all?
