Best sites/resources to find apartments?

HotPads Apartments.com
  1. The place to find your next place
That estimate seems really low and definitely doesn't reflect downtown. That being said, I've noticed the prices of downtown apartments has really increased substantially in the past year. A bunch of them also use this weird pricing method where prices go up a lot during big move in times. All of the medical campus students/residents move in between end of may and beginning of August so prices are always going to be highest then. If you could find a shorter term lease in the mean time, prices may drop come fall/winter. I usually just search apartments.com and hotpads.com and watch as things pop up. There are a lot of individually owned apartments around downtown and the surrounding areas which tend to be less expensive (for reference I live in a 2 br/2ba privately owned condo in the center of downtown for $1550/month). Once you leave downtown, complexes tend to be a lot less expensive, but usually less updated from what I saw.
