This space has been going through a rapid evolution, and has seen a virtual house sell for half a million dollars, birthed generative avatar projects with active communities, members perks, and $60M in trading volume, and even lent itself to virtual horse racing. NFTs are generally minted either as individual works, or as part of a collection - in my opinion, the latter category is somewhat more interesting as tokens have obvious markets and collectible value.

In Part 1, we talked about exchanges as custodial solutions - places that will hold your money for you and allow you to do some trading. To go further down the rabbit hole, we'll need to start acting like our own custodians by downloading a software crypto wallet. Personally, I use MetaMask, which is an in-browser extension that allows me to carry Ethereum and other various coins, and interact with decentralized applications hosted on the web. There are others (you can find a much more thorough list here), and hardware wallets are also an option (full disclosure, never used one).
