    Other than atom, I also periodically use kate to edit things, and it's also my default program for opening files with text. I also use GNU nano when I'm making really small changes to things, or quickly writing a small program.

    At GitHub, we’re building the text editor we’ve always wanted: hackable to the core, but approachable on the first day without ever touching a config file. We can’t wait to see what you build with it.
    Like I said, I prefer to use editors for Python, in which case I normally use Atom. It's pretty customizable and looks nice by default, but you can change that if you want. I recommend that people install the file-icons plugin, because it makes atom look a bit better. You can also use atom-discord if you want to show what you're working on in Discord.
