I believe I read that it was inspired by notecasepro Https://www.notecasepro.com/features.php (not open source) which also has scripting. It has an automated daily journal feature people seem to like. Joplin: If you look at it I would also look at the plugins as they can be used to extend Its uses. It has pretty nice web capture and you can easily edit stuff, It is also possible to host your own ticket tracking platform. I read about someone Selfhosting Youttrack https://www.jetbrains.com/youtrack/ for their personal knowledgebase. I have considered doing that myself. I have just begun looking into these systems.
