As I oft say, about 20% of what's on The Internet is anywhere from missing important, even crucial information, all they way down through dead wrong, and even dangerous. So, following "advice" from random folk(s)/site(s) on The Internet is at best quite hazardous. If you don't know for sure, you should well vet/check/verify the information. You'd do much better to stick with stuff under the debian.org domain, and possibly also debian.net.
