Where to find illustrations for personal projects?

Finding artwork for personal projects is one of the hardest parts of the design process. I've come across a number of repositories (e.g. https://icons8.com/illustrations, freepik, and a few others), but there's usually either way too much or not enough options on the sites I've used. I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions for either narrowing down your search, or recommendations for webistes that you peruse for high quality (and free) artwork.
