Yes and yes. KDE Connect for macOS is still in development, but there is a compatible fork called Soduto that works perfectly on macOS: https://soduto.com.

  3. Opt out of PRISM, the NSA’s global data surveillance program.
Https://prism-break.org/ offers a better list of alternatives. Moving from one proprietary service to another should be seen as a lateral move. If switching, may as well choose at least some options that don't spy on you.

  4. KDE neon is the intersection of these needs using a stable Ubuntu long-term release as its core, packaging the hottest software fresh from the KDE Community ovens.
I'm not sure if that's common knowledge, but I recently found out that KDE has a distribution called KDE Neon with the latest KDE releases. https://neon.kde.org I installed it on a USB flash drive and it's not bad.

Try it on openSUSE, the best KDE integration by far IMHO, since it is their standard DE since IDK/forever? Tumbleweed offers the newest packages, rolling like Arch, but with a huge test battery on OBS (https://openbuildservice.org/). Snapshots on upgrade make the thought of breakage (haven't had any) tolerable. Disclaimer: very happy user.
