This is hilariously biased. This is HN, you're not talking to people who don't know what Linux is. Hell, a huge portion of us are linux engineers of various sorts. You're also in a thread literally about a linux app. Anyway. I would never, ever use Linux as a desktop environment over OSX after the experiences I've had with it over the last 20+ years. OSX GUI applications absolutely blow everything that Linux has... - Source: Hacker News / 10 months ago
Https://rogueamoeba.com/soundsource/ (this has parametric EQ but it's a bit buried IIRC. It also has built-in support for AutoEQ according to this page so you might have to do almost nothing if you like the Harman curve). Source: 11 months ago
I've looked at https://rogueamoeba.com/soundsource/ and the features it has seems okay such as per-app volume levels. But I'd like it so when I connect a certain pair of headphones, then a pre-defined output and input device is set. So for Headphone A, the output might be set to this pair but the mic will be the build-in mic in my Macbook. And for Headphone B, both the output and input should be set to this... Soundsource - per app volume control just like windows. Source: about 1 year ago
Definitely doable though might point to Rogue Amoeba re: implementation/execution particularly: SoundSource, Loopback & Audio Hijack. Source: about 1 year ago
I will first start by saying that I do not Podcast, but supposedly many people find Audio Hijack to be super helpful for stuff like this. You can pull and route any audio to anywhere you want. I have personally found that their other product, SoundSource, has been better at keeping my Yeti mic separated from the Brio mic than the system’s preferences. Source: about 1 year ago
SoundSource is an amazing app that I love, and it gives you the ability to see the active device, volume levels for each device, volume levels for each app, input and output volume, and mute-per-app. Source: about 1 year ago
I recently came across this software, which I think should have been included by default in MacOS as such, check and see if this helps with controlling the volume when listening to podcasts. Source: about 1 year ago
Have you heard of SoundSource? It does what you are wanting (Per app volume control) and more without needing SIP to be disabled. Source: about 1 year ago
- Comprehensive volume control, like SoundSource. Source: about 1 year ago
- Install SoundSource so I have actual audio options. Source: about 1 year ago
Otherwise, I’m not really sure what to say. Pick a display you like the look of and then get the necessary adapters. The volume control with the keyboard is essential for me, so go check out SoundSource by Rogue Amoeba, which gives app by app control and super volume controls. Super volume controls allow you to natively control the volume with the specialty keys on your keyboard for a non-Apple display. Source: about 1 year ago
Https://rogueamoeba.com/soundsource/ this is one of the first things I install on any production mac we use - you can set each application or audio source to specific destinations with their own volume levels. Source: about 1 year ago
SoundSource: everyone on Reddit recommended it, but it’s AUD$64 and I don’t watch that many movies. UI looks nice though. Source: about 1 year ago
You may want to take a look at something like Rogue Ameoba's SoundSource for per-application audio settings. Not free, but less expensive and flexible. They have a free preview mode. Source: about 1 year ago
Not sure whether that's possible. The best software to control audio is far and away SoundSource. Hope it helps by being able to do what you want :-). Source: about 1 year ago
Https://rogueamoeba.com/soundsource/ may help. Source: about 1 year ago
I gladly paid for and use Soundforce Https://rogueamoeba.com/soundsource/. Source: about 1 year ago
SoundSource is great too. You can control/boost any app's output volume, or even pipe it through audioplugins to eq or limit like a zoom conversation. Rogue Amoeba overall are just awesome. I wish I could buy more of their apps. Source: about 1 year ago
I use this, works great, can recommend. Source: about 1 year ago
