I'm the oddball of the bunch. White noise makes it worse for me. Well, it gets better for a minute or two, but if I remove the white noise, it comes back. If I keep the white noise going for > 5 min, the tinnitus gets louder. The only thing that keeps it at bay for me is music, or otherwise, some kind of background noise that isn't white noise. Guaifenesin. I've recommended this a few times now, I've been wondering if anyone has tried it and agrees? I used to take it together with Sudafed (Non-Drying Sinus) but I've found that it by itself is enough to counter some of the ear pressure. There isn't much that can be done for tinnitus.
