> I don't know a single techie person who uses Windows (other than for gaming) I'd say that Windows actually has some nice software, like MobaXTerm: https://mobaxterm.mobatek.net/ which in my eyes is better than Remmina or pretty much anything I've found on nix, short of just running the same thing on Wine. WinSCP is also pretty cool, albeit nothing particularly special: https://winscp.net/eng/index.php PowerToys... - Source: Hacker News / 16 days ago
For working with remote machines that I need to ssh into I've found mobaXTerm[1] to be a very useful terminal emulator. It has an optional remote monitoring feature that shows the usual stats as a small bar under the active terminal window. It's a windows only application though. The multiple supported shells remind me a little bit of the Windows cmder app, which I recall being pretty decent: https://cmder.app/ But the cross platform aspect is really nice, even if in my experience using different terminal apps per platform hasn't been too big of an issue. Maybe except for MobaXTerm feeling better than most Linux tabbed/split terminal offerings due to its usability and support for sending... - Source: Hacker News / about 1 year ago

My wife's phone (pixel 6 pro) was trying to backup photos and was not completing the upload so the phone would restart the upload while the system was still trying to process the first request... This went on for days till I used MobaXterm to get a look inside via ssh. Every time it restarted it created a temp file, every temp file was about 8-10Gb before restarting. This filled space very quickly. Kill/unplug... Source: over 1 year ago

Most recently I have tried to launch a virtual VM in digitial ocean. Cheapest, for 4$ a month(1vcpu-512mb-10gb) and run ubuntu there, have headless dropbox and emacs inside of it, ssh into it at work from a windows machine over mobaxterm(I am asked for password, so only I can access it), to have emacs with a GUI. It works quite well. Today will be my second day using this setup. What I think now.. I could perhaps... Source: over 1 year ago
