I'm in no position to give advice but I felt that having a good CV and people skills definitely helped me. I used resume.io for my CV and cover letter, and can definitely recommend it. I have previously worked as a manager in a different industry and used to receive 1-2 CV's a day, a good looking CV really stands out amongst the pile of terrible ones. My only other recommendation is to use Jobcan (jobscan.co) to compare your resume with the job description for each role so that you can easily identify any missing key words/phrases.
