So if you want to download something from lets say, YouTube, the speed will be slightly different because now you're connecting to Google's server, not your ISP's server. The problem is bad video quality or input lag? Did you check your ping? A good bandwidht don't mean a good ping. Check your ping (bufferbloat) here. And instead of using a vpn, did you try changing your dns first? I recommend the cloudfire one. Source: over 2 years ago
