I keep a list of them, I think I originally got most of these from https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=33592990 (not OSS) * OpenBlocks - https://github.com/openblocks-dev/openblocks * Interval - https://interval.com/ * Bracket - https://www.usebracket.com/ * Budibase - https://budibase.com/ * AppSmith - https://www.appsmith.com/ * ToolJet - https://www.tooljet.com/ I only have direct experience with AppSmith. - Source: Hacker News / 5 months ago
I skipped to chapter 9 in the article ("Clogged"), and it looked like Pipes failed because it didn't have a large enough team or a well-defined mission. As a result they couldn't offer a super robust product that would lure in enterprise users. "You could not purchase some number of guaranteed-to-work Pipes calls per month" is the quote from the article. I'm the co-founder of Budibase and we've spent the last 5 years building what we believe is a better, faster, open source replacement for VB. Check it out: [1] https://budibase.com. - Source: Hacker News / 9 months ago
Budibase looks really impressive, basically a GUI frontend builder for postgres and its open source. Haven't actually deployed it, but played with the GUI builder and its nice. Finally, if you wanted a step up, then I guess supabase [5] would be the next one up but its more like "I just want to write front end and have... - Source: Hacker News / 9 months ago
Founder of Appsmith (https://appsmith.com) here. This is very unfortunate news. I have a lot of respect for the founders & the product. In fact I even used Airplane for a few side projects in the past. It's sad to see the product die. IMO, most folks alluding to them running out money is incorrect. I think they simply ran out of energy or the will to go on. This is very common among early stage companies. But, as... - Source: Hacker News / 5 months ago
As well as Appsmith & Retool. They all have generous free tiers, in my opinion. Each can be self-hosted too. Source: over 1 year ago
Hello, you can check out Appsmith. It's an open-source platform with all the features you mentioned and it's great for building business apps! Source: over 1 year ago
Appsmith is self hosted right now. It’s as customizable as Retool, easy as Internal, and less glitchy than Budibase. Tooljet also offers a self hosted version, but Appsmiths dev team updates improvements so much faster. Source: over 1 year ago
