In my experience, not worth it other than match.com (but see last sentence for qualification). Match Group owns, in addition to match.com, pof, okc, ourtime and others that I haven't used. Seems to me that the 'corporate strategy' is to cripple everything except match.com in order to drive the business that way. In the past, pof and okc were free and provided a 'reasonable' service. While still free, important services require a subscription and, perhaps because of the poor value, the female customer population has dwindled. Ourtime has recently (this year) reduced the function of the site to the point where it's worthless. match.com's value is so low that I now just buy a one month subscription every four months to see if any of my 'Likes' are worth responding to. However with respect to scams, in 'our'/my demographic (I'm 67) the scammers are rare and easily identified.
