  • Ask HN: It Was Better with Www
We all act like writing www. Is lame and for dads/grandparents, but the truth is: 1. You never know when you need to write https:// 2. It looks a lot uglier 3. Literally means "hypertext transfer protocol (secure)" (I had to look it up, and I am a hacker news user.) 4. Just happened to me: in a youtube description you cant just put ycombinator.com, you have to write https://ycombinator.com. This is not a problem... - Source: Hacker News / 4 months ago
  • demo of an AI driven RPG
I found the link originally at ycombinator.com and they have some discussion around it. Source: almost 1 year ago
  • Did Twitter die, Elon?
I said this on ycombinator.com, if Elon spent more time on his business rather than arguing online about covid (which is what he was doing at the time of the outage btw), I feel like less twitter outages would happen and perhaps the Twitter Status would be properly updated. Of course, he would rather spend his time conversing online like a 14 year old on MW2 instead of actually doing his job. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Making Something Waspy: A Review Of Wasp
I wish I could remember what took me to YCombinator's website on the 10th of October, 2022. That was when I first heard about Wasp and another language called DarkLang. After I learned about Wasp, I was intrigued and curious to know how it works, which led me to join the discord server the next day. - Source: dev.to / over 1 year ago
  • "what did you hack" question and answer not visible in application review
Hmmm. I did not receive any communication from ycombinator.com ever. Is there another domain it comes from? Should I be concerned? My application is showing as "Submitted.". Source: over 1 year ago
  • So I had an Idea about an app, what do I do?
Go to ycombinator.com, sign up for their online startup course, and go through all of the video presentations session by session. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Y Combinator Startup School, Summer 2022
Y Combinator (YC) is a startup accelerator that has incubated companies like Airbnb, Stripe, Doordash, Reddit, Scale and more. We are bringing back our first live Startup School since 2020. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Payload has been accepted into Y Combinator S22
The team at Y Combinator sees the value in what we've built and understands the potential for Payload to be developers' first choice when they select a headless CMS. They've officially given us a vote of confidence that we have what it takes to complete our mission, accepted us into their S22 batch, and invested $500K in our vision. - Source: dev.to / almost 2 years ago
  • I have millions of users, but no businesses use it
If you are seriously considering turning it into a business I would suggest applying to a startup accelerator (ycombinator.com). They will tell you that you need to find a cofounder, but they routinely accept solo founders into the program (although it's an order of magnitude harder to pull a startup off the ground alone). • How to Work Hard (2021) Graham
Paul Graham is a programmer, writer, and investor. In 1995, he and Robert Morris started Viaweb, the first software as a service company. Viaweb was acquired by Yahoo in 1998, where it became Yahoo Store. In 2001 he started publishing essays on paulgraham.com, which now gets around 25 million page views per year. In 2005 he and Jessica Livingston, Robert Morris, and Trevor Blackwell started Y Combinator, the... Source: over 2 years ago
  • Hi, I'm Chris Lamb (aka lamby), a 35-year-old software engineer.
Before becoming an independent contractor, I worked as Technical Architect at Playfire.com (acquired in 2012) and Thread.com (YCombinator S12). I remain experienced in full-stack web development with a focus on backend development using Python and Django. Source: over 2 years ago
  • Can I start a Robotics startup with just a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Math?
I know most fail, but lessons from ycombinator.com or other websites that offer startup advice can improve your odds, right? Source: almost 3 years ago
  • How I dropped out, applied to 16 companies, and got offers from 4
The server in question is Gen Z Mafia, basically a community of young people building stuff in the general tech-y/startup-y space. They've been featured in the The New York Times, and have interviewed people like Ryan Hoover from Product Hunt, Michael Siebel from Y Combinator, etc. I joined around November 2020 when it was much smaller.
