  • The Future Of 1047
This is why I like Splitgate. It is Linux native. I also like it because it is crossplatform. I play with a controller so playing an arena type shooter like Xonotic isn't much fun aginst and small experienced player base on KBM. I like that on controller I'm not an anomaly with Splitgate. - Source: Reddit / 2 months ago
  • Looking to get back into arena games
I guess I could pitch in my favorites too: Quakeworld & Xonotic, both free, no business catch and don't need third party launchers. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
  • Recommend me games in the genre "arena fps"
If you liked Nexuiz, you should check it's fork project Xonotic. When Nexuiz got sold the community and devs moved on there. - Source: Reddit / 4 months ago
  • Supporting Libre Games
Xonotic, one of many FOSS arena shooters, the continuation of Nexuiz, with good graphics and fun gameplay. - Source: Reddit / 4 months ago

  • Best free LAN Party Games to share
Have you tried Xonotic (https://xonotic.org/)? It's an open source clone of unreal tournament. Fast paced. Low requirements. Plays well. - Source: Reddit / 4 months ago
  • Best free LAN Party Games to share
Teeworlds is an absolute blast of a LAN party game. Fist Full of Frags is fun... Armagetron Advanced is a weird change of pace. (Tron lightcycles) Xonotic is a more modernized Unreal Tournament type experience. - Source: Reddit / 4 months ago
  • Any games like Tribes with any sort of playerbase?
Tribes player friend of mine said Xonotic is probably the closest to tribes like gunplay out of any AFPS he's tried. There's lot of different types of projectiles, vertical action and somewhat large maps sometimes. It's not like Tribes gameplay per se, but maybe you'd be into it. - Source: Reddit / 6 months ago
  • Unreal Engine 5 enters Early Access
I have a group of friends that I play Xonotic[1] with occasionally. Free-software, easy to get started, cross-platform. It scratches the UT/ Quake3 itch without having to deal with CD-keys and backwards compatibility with friends. [1] https://xonotic.org/. - Source: Hacker News / 6 months ago
  • Quake3e, a modern Quake III Arena engine
If you like Quake-likes, let me recommend Xonotic. It's a free and open source game based on a heavily modified Darkplaces engine. It's a friendly community, with a wide age distribution (lots of old quakers like myself). If you don't like death match, clan arena or CTF, login to a CTS defrag game (time races for movement training). https://xonotic.org. - Source: Hacker News / 7 months ago
