  • Planet Mars! part 13: Artifacts of Ancient Astronauts (Please discuss each item!)
First, we go to the World-Wide Telscope http://worldwidetelescope.org/webclient/. Source: 11 months ago
  • How long would it take the JWST to map the entire sky with the detail of the first Deep Field image? Would it even be possible?
Cool as it is, that link unfortunately only shows the initial release images; however, the full web-client has a JWST folder that is being updated with new stuff. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Signs of life? Recently Discovered Fast Radio Burst 190520B is now the 2nd of around 500 known FRBs to have a so-called PRS counterpart showing consistent activity.
Go to https://worldwidetelescope.org/webclient. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Ok I’m biased because the Andromeda galaxy is the best galaxy, but this is my new favorite bookmark!
Just posted! From a friend who works on a project called WorldWide Telescope, they just had a big launch update yesterday so made some bookmarks to promote it. :). Source: about 2 years ago

Got it from a friend who works on WorldWide Telescope, which is a free sky visualization platform. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Ideas for a 6 year old space nerd
To supplement the telescope thing you can also try WorldWide Telescope. It's a software where you can see anywhere in the night sky and explore the constellations. Try pointing at a random point and zoom in, you'll see a lot of details. You can also pair it with the telescope as a sky map. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Four sketches from tonight, with the Zhumell Z130 in Bortle 7 Skies.
Welp, guess this is why I didn't see NGC2158: https://imgur.com/a/VFR96Yg Ran the first image through astrometry.net, you can see from the ampglow in the second image that it was just outside my FOV. Also, in doing so I discovered the AAS WorldWide Telescope — don't know why I'd never come across this but it looks amazing. And now I have a new afternoon activity to help me put off grading! • I was looking at this picture from Hubble and I noticed an odd looking galaxy. Is there a website where I can find out more about it, and other lesser known deep sky objects?
One I know is the Worldwide Telescope , that may be useful. Source: about 3 years ago
