  • German carmaker Mercedes-Benz becomes the first carmaker to receive authorization to sell or lease cars with an automated driving system to the public in California.
Do you guys think there's an opportunity for indie devs to get involved in a way to contribute? I've been trying to stay on it and use tools like I've been following all the tech news on wired.com, thepowerup.ai, etc etc but am looking for like an sdk or something. Source: 10 months ago
  • A Leaked Tesla Report Shows the Cybertruck Had Basic Design Flaws
Sounds like fake news to me. I mean who even is "wired"? Maybe some new, woke, start-up, legacy, lame stream media company who simultaneously is woke and old money. Like a superposition of best and worst. Source: 10 months ago
  • I keep receiving cookie consent notifications. Brave browser doesn't remember that I've already made a selection.
After introducing EasyList - Cookie List, I tested it for a few days. I wasn't happy with EasyList - Cookie List and turned it off. I've been having issues with cookie consent banners ever since. I tried to fix it by reinstalling the Brave browser but it didn't help. When I visit any website, a cookie consent banner appears. I accept or reject cookies. Everything is fine for a few days. The problem is that when I... Source: 12 months ago
  • Stop asking how to virtualize MacOS on Windows. Your post WILL be removed
Apple could post a dmca takedown to reddit and have this sub closed, they went after Psystar and won, and I beleive they've gone after wired.com and other places. So I wouldn't call it silly. Source: about 1 year ago
  • On the Wired Article
I expect the wired.com & Jason to apologize. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Online Sleuths Untangle the Mystery of the Nord Stream Sabotage
I mean, you see wired.com and you can just assume it's going to be trash tbh. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Any late-night study places?
Thats awesome that you're "fairly certain" about research that you haven't bothered to provide. Before you go googling to make your point, research isn't an article from businessinsider or wired.com, it comes from peer reviewed, academic journals. Nice job making shit up and talking out your ass, thanks. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Is there a sub like this that you can talk about non vaccine COVID issues? Like lockdowns, masks, etc..?
Wired.com, vs real science? LOL! You've gotta be kidding me! Source: about 1 year ago
  • Hogwarts Review 1/10
Well I'm sorry but if the very prestigious game review site wired.com says it is a 1/10 then it definitely is, glad I didn't buy it. (/s). Source: about 1 year ago
  • Unlocking Vault in 1Password vs. Bitwarden
I believe it was just this morning that I watched a youtube video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J\_NadlC\_Kv0 ) that claimed that only the passwords were encrypted (and that usernames etc were not stored encrypted). The video cited a wired.com article, which I did not personally look at. I have not gone digging for sources, but given the track record of LastPass, I would not be surprised if it were true that... • Banning TikTok Hurts Higher Education
Well, can't say I was a wired.com reader but... I'm done with the for sure now. Source: over 1 year ago
  • New bot ChatGPT will force colleges to get creative to prevent cheating, experts say
Hi! I'm a journalist at WIRED, and I'm interested in learning how students and teachers are using/thinking about ChatGPT. Would anyone following this thread be interested in sharing their thoughts with me for a story? How do you think it'll change your life (or not)? You can message me here, or email at pia_ceres (at) wired.com. Thanks! Source: over 1 year ago
  • Best sources for learning to be a self taught trader and investor?
    Investopedia.com , marketwatch.com , finance.yahoo.com , businessinsider.com , wired.com. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Should i upgrade to 32gb if my 16gb ram usage is high out of the box?
I only get high memory usage with Safari, though. Every other browser seems to do a much better job. And it's usually really weird, like wired.com is using 1.8GB of RAM. I quit and relaunch Safari on the regular when I notice things getting sluggish. Source: over 1 year ago
  • What is the significance of the lens of the Death Ray from ROCKEFELLERREVELATION
The eye sockets arent visible because we're looking at the inside of the skull's mouth, the two large vertical lines are the upper fangs. Btw, it seems to be a gaboon viper, the image from a wired.com article. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • The capitulation and giving up moving on is here
You have blind faith in a guy who has done nothing but release a basic smart contract that issues timed payments and dodges questions on AMAs. Prior track record of EOS: $4 billon invested, even before the crash a MC a fraction of that. From articles on legit places like wired.com: "most overhyped blockchain ever" and quotes from peoples high up in EOS now: "block.one (Moss's company) grossly overstated... Source: almost 2 years ago
  • now that versus is a shitshow who do I go too?!?
The reality is markets have been systematically dismantled at an increasing rate over past 9 months since he arrived back on the scene. And don't get me wrong, I was Alphabay all the way, I barely dodged losing big when AB1 went down and I thought it was an overall fairly cool story that he walked away from it, only to return with the balls enough to open it under the same name and giving an interview to... • Website not secure on a secure website
Chrome gives me the " You are seeing this warning because this site does not support HTTPS " error on sites such as "gmail.com" and "wired.com". Source: almost 2 years ago
  • A new trick lets artificial intelligence see in 3D
Well, not new to anyone who's been following these posts. What they're talking about is neural radiance fields, aka NeRF. What this article shows is that news of NeRF is getting out of the research community and into the mainstream (the article is on wired.com). It's also a nice collection of links to papers and news articles about NeRF. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Safari Flaws Exposed Webcams.
From that wired.com article (dated Jan 25, 2022):. Source: about 2 years ago
  • If only there was season 4 to make...
And you know that how exactly? There are various articles (eg one article on wired.com from 2001) stating that people do smoke scorpions, apparently not only in Pakistan but also in India, Afghanistan, there's interviews with people etc. I mean there is medical research on scorpion venom and its possible benefits for people with Arthritis for example...
