To be a bit more useful here, let me suggest this freeware app; https://windows-repair-toolbox.com/ It has a LOT of tools for Windows and there is a free recover tool called RECUVA that it can download. Also, an undelete. If OP's project is on the boot drive, then, install these utilities on an external hard drive because you want to use it as little as possible. No problem! If you have checked and have the same errors as me. (if it say the kernel-power stuff) I would check out this: fix. Ive tried some of these steps and it works so far! Keep in mind the software they reccomend is not free. And there is free options. You can also try with Windows repair toolbox. If you would like to benchmark and see your temps.
