It's a good way to know if your mail has gone missing. I use it mostly because I don't get much junk mail and it saves me time from having to walk to the mail boxes at my apartment every night.     I had missing mail a few times, especially during the local disruptions and I reported it through informed delivery. Informed delivery possibly would’ve saved OP a trip to report missing mail.     If you live in an apartment building of more than 2 units, sign up for Informed Delivery. It is a free service from USPS, and if you choose, you'll get a daily email with the images of letter sized mail that ran through the processing plant.
