  • RIPTA first-timer
RIPTA is pretty reliable, if not always frequent. You can use the Transit app to see when the bus is coming. - Source: Reddit / 3 days ago
  • Visiting LA next month. So far only planned Universal Studios. Any other spots ya’ll recommend? Thank you.
Get the transit app. you can check realtime metro routes schedules and also get uber and lyft and even scooters from within the app. it's super cool. - Source: Reddit / 4 days ago
  • Locals recommendations for traveler from LA, CA who doesn't drive
In all seriousness. If you want the best access around the city DT is the only place you can get a hotel with reasonable access. Transit is the best way to get around. - Source: Reddit / 6 days ago
  • Citymapper Joins Via
I've used Citymapper for maybe 5 years, and while I remain a fan, Transit[0] just seems like a much better product. They support more cities, their user tracking is (generally) more accurate, and (at least in my opinion) their app just better designed & thought out for transit use. • Citymapper Joins Via
Just chiming in with another option. May have been cause they are Montreal based, but back when I still lived there and regularly used public transport, Transit[1] was my favorite. [1] https://transitapp.com/. - Source: Hacker News / 10 days ago
  • Public transportation in LA?
Try the transit app. you can search timing and routes on buses and trains plus metro micro, as well as uber and lyft, and even bikes and scooters. it gives you all your options in one place. Extremely useful esp if you're on the fly and open to different ways to get around. - Source: Reddit / 12 days ago
  • Public transportation in LA?
Transit app is what I use to see what buses are coming. You can also find routes on Transit, but Google Maps is also good for that. Type in the destination, and it will tell you which buses and trains to take. You can also download the TAP app, and Metro Bike app. If you register on Metro Bike, you can also use the bikes. - Source: Reddit / 12 days ago
  • Deciding which college to study abroad at
Tulane and UAB aren't in college towns, but basically everywhere in the US is easier to get around if you have a car. Does that mean that it's impossible? Absolutely not, but you need realistic expectations. I'd suggest getting the Transit app and using Rome2Rio to check what your options are for transportation to the cities that you'd want to visit during your time in the US. - Source: Reddit / 15 days ago
  • Best way to get around the bay area?
Yeah the Transit app is very useful for me! - Source: Reddit / 19 days ago
  • New Bus App for RIT
There is already an app available for something like this (cross-platform) called Transit! It offers a free RTS Go subscription as well, for city commute, and allows for route planning on top of that. It has a nice UI and is comfortable to use. I would recommend giving it a whirl, especially since they recently added the RIT bus system with decent accuracy. - Source: Reddit / 29 days ago
  • New to using metro and need help!
Get the Transit app for your phone. Super helpful for planning your trips. - Source: Reddit / about 1 month ago
  • The Marta breeze app is horrible
I gave up on that app a while ago. Try the Transit app instead. - Source: Reddit / about 1 month ago
  • Is it possible to rely on public transportation in St Louis/Kansas City?
Both cities use https://transitapp.com/ . I Don't have too much experience with it yet but seems pretty helpful and is probably worth having if you're going to try transit only for your trip. - Source: Reddit / about 1 month ago
  • Shuttle from FLL?
There is a bus, route 1, that goes from FLL to the Broward Central Bus Terminal which is adjacent to the Ft. L station. The transit app is really useful especially if you’re not a frequent transit user. You can skip the ticket machine with this app. - Source: Reddit / about 2 months ago
  • SF Long Weekend Trip - Young adults, Mid-March
Are you specifically trying to go to Sonoma or just wine country in general. Sonoma is not easy to get to on public transit. You can always check via Google Maps or the transit app. You can also price check on both Uber and Lyft apps. It's about $70 each way right now. I'm usually not one to recommend tours but this might be the easiest and most cost effective way for you. - Source: Reddit / about 2 months ago
  • Best & Fastest Way To Learn The Subway?
Transit (shows real-time bus locations). - Source: Reddit / about 2 months ago
  • What does our bus system need the most?
I like the transit app. The interface can be a bit weird sometimes, but it tracks the busses in real time and I find the estimated arrival times to be reasonably accurate most of the time. - Source: Reddit / 2 months ago
  • Non-Stop Flights to London
For local transport in Belgium, if you don't use Transit App here in Austin (you should), all the regional and national public transit agencies have real-time integration: TEC in Wallonia, De Lijn in Flanders, STIB-MIVB in Brussels, and the National Railway Company of Belgium SNCB. - Source: Reddit / 2 months ago
  • Feasibility of a rail connection/transit service between Burlington Union and Essex Junction stations?
The tracking app already exists! It's called the "Transit" app, and it's not GMT specific; a bunch of other transit agencies also use it. https://transitapp.com/. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
  • Why are bus routes not in Google Maps?
Just an FYI, there are other third party apps that can help you with this. My favorite is Transit, they added Suffolk County years ago thankfully. Hopefully they'll be on Google someday. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
