Check its entry on https://thetvdb.com If it doesn’t match up there, nothing you do will make Plex add it. - Source: Reddit / 5 days ago
I've never had an issue matching anything I've formatted like that - as long as the name matches what's in thetvdb.com. If you're having trouble, look the show up there and make sure the name matches what they have. - Source: Reddit / 14 days ago
You can view the different orders on The TVDB to find out which one is best to use once you've identified the shows. - Source: Reddit / 15 days ago
Which scraper? I use https://www.themoviedb.org & https://thetvdb.com/ and they both speed by showing %. - Source: Reddit / 17 days ago
For F1, match the episode Season and Episode numbers with thetvdb.com episode naming. For example S2023E07 is Bahrain (Qualifying). - Source: Reddit / 20 days ago
I ran into a reason for the first time yesterday (using Plex since 2017). I added a TV series with a lot of "specials" that exist in thetvdb.com database, but only when you use "Aired-Order" and because of the nature of the Blu-ray I purchased I have to use DVD order in which no metadata for the specials are available. (I don't have an account to edit thetvdb.com). - Source: Reddit / about 1 month ago
As Plex matches TV shows to thetvdb.com you could try to organize the looney tunes files into seasons and episodes that match that database. Plex will then pull in the metadata for them like anything else. However, no idea how your files are named. If they don't have any sort of intelligent names on them already you're going to be in for a long project as you'd have to watch enough of each episode to identify it,... - Source: Reddit / about 1 month ago
I'm probably missing something, but Plex just refuses to import this show from Hulu. It keeps trying to put something about firemen as the match. When I search show and year it refuses to acknowledge it exists despite its thetvdb.com page:. - Source: Reddit / about 1 month ago
IIRC it's a mix of The Movie Database (TMDB), The TV database (TVDB) and IMDB (despite their names, both TMDB and TVDB index movies and TV shows). Adding the shows/movies to TMDB or TVDB should make it to Plex's aggregated database in a couple days. - Source: Reddit / 2 months ago
Use Bulk Renaming Utility and TheTVDB for the names and you will be golden. - Source: Reddit / 2 months ago
Couple of sites, You'll have to figure them out for yourself. One is KODIAPPS.com. Don't know enough about the site but it shows that they have it. Another site is thetvdb.com. Has it also but again I don't know enough about the site. Good Luck. IF I find anyplace else I'll let you know. - Source: Reddit / 2 months ago
The descriptions probably come from TVDB and TMDB, so check those and then either edit them yourself or ask someone there to edit them. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
It can be taste, I use tvdb https://thetvdb.com/ but others can be themoviedb.org, imdb, tvmaze and then you get things like genome and often even places where you find the content. No one stop shop... - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
Hi, so my scraper is Tiny Media Manager. Using thetvdb.com would be awesome--but I have to pay for that upgrade. What scraper do you use? I'm assuming you don't manually punch in the data for massive episodic shows like this. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
Lookup the episode at thetvdb.com for proper naming. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
You may want to look to see if they are listed under Specials for Friends on thetvdb.com. If they are, simply name the file Friends/Specials/Friends - S00E## - SPECIAL NAME.EXT and Plex should scrape the appropriate metadata. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
Have you checked the episode layouts at themoviedb.org vs thetvdb.com? - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
When you go to thetvdb.com or https://imdb.com/ where are they listed? - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
This is where I hit my first issue. I go to thetvdb.com and search paw patrol and there are only 4 entries. The original series for 2013, the movie from 2021, the Jet to the rescue movie from 2020 and the mighty pups movie from 2018. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
The standard for SXXEYY naming is using the TVDb as your reference database and to see how AniDB stuff is related to TVDb, you use xem. This is what's "ideal" when it comes to naming due to various reasons which are not really relevant here so I won't be expanding on those. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
However the software I use to play them likes it. My main player is Plex and I use tinyMediaManger to name them - with the Plex naming preset + episode title at the end. Works perfectly well, no issues with matching. When it comes to handling of special episodes I check https://thetvdb.com/. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
