  • [unknown] [unknown] psych indie horror murder mystery??
You could also try vndb, it’s very thorough in cataloguing even super-obscure visual novels and the search/tag feature is pretty robust. Good luck finding this game! Source: 4 months ago
  • [Steam] Summer Sale 2023 (Day 7)
You can also go to vndb.org/ , click on "visual novel," and rank by popularity or rating to see what others VNs fans in general like. Source: 10 months ago
  • Is there an uta no prince sama english translation?
Vndb.org is a great source to find out what has, hasn't, or is in the process of being translated. In this case, it looks like there has been no fan translations into English. While the search feature takes some learning to use efficiently, there's a myriad of ways to find games with unofficial patches. There are also other threads on this sub about using translation tools on your phone or computer to play... Source: 10 months ago
  • [BROWSER] [2010s] visual novel game
I took a look through vndb.org with the tags you provided and I think it could be Cafe Rouge - even the release date checks out, At the bottom are a few pictures, you can try comparing to your memory. There seems to be a remake with the same name on Steam aswell. Source: 10 months ago
  • Is there a pc version of Kamigami no Asobi?
Vndb.org is your friend. There was an unfinished text-based translation to read alongside the Switch game. You can find what was translated here before the project was dropped. Source: 10 months ago
  • What are you reading? - Jun 9
In order for your post to be properly noticed for the archive, please add the VNDB page of whichever title you're talking about in your post. The archive can be found here! Source: 10 months ago
  • Outbakad by tiktok again
Neither did I, but it's enough to just take a glance at it on vndb.org and also check if it's labelled as a nukige. Source: 11 months ago
  • Based on a semi-true story
That’s fair. Honestly, just a little digging or asking the right people can help a lot. While I don’t know a place to download them, I would refer to The Visual Novel Database for info about specific VNs. Source: 11 months ago
  • I can't trust anything ChatGPT tells (with an example)
There is no such thing as "The VNDB Yearly Rankings". VNDB (Visual Novel Database, vndb.org) does exist, the site allows registered users to give a score (1-10) to games in the database, and the average scores of all users for all games can be sorted to find the best ranked games. There are no yearly rankings. So partially factual information, but also false claims & does not answer the question. Source: 11 months ago
  • My backlog scares me so much lol
I'm pretty sure you need an account on vndb https://vndb.org/. Source: 12 months ago
  • What a nice looking anime visual novel experience. I sure hope nothing bad happens
Also, the Visual Novel database is a great reference if you really want to get into them.. https://vndb.org/. Source: 12 months ago

  • Looking for: CYOA Story Romance Game Anime
Use the advanced search feature if it's still an option, and also there's The VNDB. Source: almost 1 year ago
  • Hey! Do you have a hobby that isn't so common but you would like to people to try it?
Yes! Some years ago, not my favorite lol For some people that is their first experience in the world of vns, but it isn't the best one to start in my opinion. I suggest using vndb for discovering ehat vns you would like! Source: about 1 year ago
  • Which otome have english patches?
This is a job for vndb.org! But seriously, vndb has an extensive system with tags so you can not only find all games on PC with English language, but also with an original language chosen (Japanese in this case) and must have the otome game tag. The database is edited by users, so when new fan patches come out, even if not complete, you can usually find where they are located. Source: about 1 year ago
  • How do you keep track of your collection?
I started using VNDB very recently, Before I used to just use my notes app and write it out myself. I totally love VNDB and will never go to anything else probably. Source: about 1 year ago
  • What are you reading? - Mar 17

  • Tokyo Necro Steam dlc available for free on JAST USA
Sorry, just curious here -- in your header you've got "Boycott VNDB", yet you then immediately provide a link (https://vndb.org) using it. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Localization Question
I'd love to help you locate things you're looking for, but a little more info would be needed. vndb.org is a great site to find out what has been localized officially and unofficially. Fan patches, demos, unfinished translations, etc, are all listed on this database and typically links are provided for where you can find what you need. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Searching for Enemies to Lovers Japanese BL Novels
ちるちる : a portal for BL media (a database), mainly for manga, drama cd and novels (for video games, vndb is better). You can search by tags here (sexual content, genres, themes, characters traits, etc), the tag system could be improved (missing tags), but it's better than nothing. "Enemies to lovers" would be 敵対関係 hostile relationship/antagonism (設定 section, 3rd column). You can post and read reviews from other... Source: about 1 year ago
  • Having Trouble Getting a VN to Work.
Maybe because it doesn't have a Translation? Yeah, if you didn't already know most Visual Novels are Japanese(at least 70% as the Genre is quite niche and was originally invented by Japan and made for Japanese audience) and most don't get officially localized in English the ones that do are mostly done by Fan Translation Groups (this community's gods). The fastest way to check if a Game is translated or not is to... Source: about 1 year ago
