  • Sentence Mining Resources
As for other possibilities, I often like tatoeba. Mistakes can be found there, too, but I think most of the sentences were at least human translated. Reverso context is another option, though it also uses machine translations. - Source: Reddit / 5 months ago
  • `finfreq10k` - I've released v1.0.0 of my new, much larger and better sourced Anki flashcard deck of the top *10,000* most common words in Finnish. Includes TTS, example sentences, Wiktionary entries and more. Download link in comments.

  • Is my Chinese learning approach good?
Finally, I use the flashcard app Memrise. It uses spaced repetition to show you words right as you are about to forget them. They have user created decks but I prefer to make my own so that the words have more meaning to me. When making the cards I use https://forvo.com/ to get audio and I use https://tatoeba.org/en to get sentences whenever possible. - Source: Reddit / 7 months ago

  • How did your Anki vocabulary memorization pan out when you finally went to a foreign country?
The hard part is card generation. You cannot just download the top 1k used words deck and be done. You want to learn a new word you need to go find 2/3 sentences with that word in it with audio. https://tatoeba.org/en is my main source but I also have some beginner friendly dictionaries that often have ok sentences and I'll often post sentences on lang8.com myself to get them checked if I can't find anything... - Source: Reddit / 8 months ago
  • Is EXTREMELY Low Resource Translation (1-10k sents) Possible (with Expert Knowledge)???
There is already such a website, Tatoeba. The data currently available for Assyrian Neo-Aramaic and Syriac (which after a quick look at Wikipedia I think are subgroups of North-Eastern Neo-Aramaic, correct me if I'm wrong) is rather limited and I guess the script is the one you said younger speakers cannot read, but nothing stops you from adding your own sentences using whatever script people use nowadays. - Source: Reddit / 9 months ago
  • How are you learning Japanese?
For getting phrases I use Tatoeba and Tangorin. With Yomichan I turn them into Anki cards. - Source: Reddit / 10 months ago
  • Source for (scrap-able) Hebrew text?
I also cannot tell enough about what exactly Tatoeba does to know whether it would be useful for you. - Source: Reddit / 11 months ago
  • Wanting to learn again!
I look up example sentences on Tatoeba containing any new words from the Assimil lesson and add those to Anki too. This helps place words in appropriate contexts and helps reinforce them. - Source: Reddit / 11 months ago
  • How do you learn vocabulary with context?
In case it's helpful, besides reverso, I've also found tatoeba to be a great source of sentences that can help learn a word with context. - Source: Reddit / about 1 year ago
  • How can I use Anki for these purposes?
I would go for the simple Turkish-Arabic/Arabic-Turkish translation method (Substitute Arabic with English if you want) if my goal is recognition. The Basic (and reversed card) note type is just for that. You can of course enhance it by adding a field for example sentences, and I strongly recommend that, as learning in context is easier. You can use online sentence sources like Tatoeba for that. I wouldn't bother... - Source: Reddit / about 1 year ago
  • Who's the owner of jisho or classic.jisho? Classic jisho is shutting down soon, people probably prefer older than new
I'm not saying there's anything wrong with jisho necessarily, and everyone learns at their own pace, but it's a bit weird to be so overly reliant on it to be completely honest. First and foremost, Jisho sentences (not sure about classic jisho though) are taken from tatoeba corpus which is.. Extremely questionable. A lot of sentences are wrong/unnatural, or their translation is wrong/incorrect/confusing. It's a... - Source: Reddit / over 1 year ago

I'm also thinking that some sentences might be weird because Clozemaster sources its sentences from an open-source sentence translation database called Tatoeba, which accepts user contributions, so who knows what you'll get. If you feel like it, you can check it out here: https://tatoeba.org/en/. - Source: Reddit / over 1 year ago
