  • How to manage tasks in game dev?
Web-based tools and gui apps are just too high friction for my work flow, so I prefer simple command line tools. https://taskwarrior.org/ is my current favorite. Source: 20 days ago
  • Ask HN: What productivity tools do you use?
I’ll volunteer Taskwarrior (https://taskwarrior.org), since I don’t see it from anyone else just yet. It’s a CLI oriented task management system which (once you learn it) can be very quick and easy to use. It’s not perfect but they’ve done a better job that I would have for sure, and have really thought about reducing friction. - Source: Hacker News / about 1 month ago
  • The April RLM watch party - with a twist
Cool, I set it in my Google Calendar and put it in my Taskwarrior that I started using. Source: about 2 months ago
  • Python flask frontend for commandline todo application TaskWarrior

TaskWarrior might be your thing. See https://taskwarrior.org or r/taskwarrior. Source: 6 months ago
  • How do you keep track of research time?
I use task warrior to track all my research to-do items, and if I tell it when I start and stop working on a task rather than just marking it done when I'm finished, it'll track time spent on each item. Makes it easy to ask "what have I worked on the past week / month, and how much time did I spend on it?". Source: 6 months ago
  • Taskpaper.vim. Still used?
To answer OP's question, the last commit seems to be from 2012 so it's safe to assume the project is abandoned. For a todo-list program, I swear by Taskwarrior. Source: 6 months ago
  • Simple todo app that let’s me add task + deadline in short time
Not an app but Taskwarrior is great for this at the command line:. Source: 7 months ago
  • Is there a urgency-based task manager/todo list?
I used to use TaskWarrior to manage my tasks, but I can't run it on Windows. This was fine when I used Linux most of the time, but recently, I am daily driving a Windows laptop that I can't install Linux on. I basically need an alternative to TaskWarrior. Source: 7 months ago
  • How to install Arch Linux for WSL
There's one thing I would suggest doing if you are doing software development: Install taskwarrior. This is useful because you can write down tasks for things you can do while working on project. Personally, I'm more of a Trello person because Kanban is awesome and can be used for more than just computer development. I used it to help me list all the things I need to do when I moved into my apartment a few... - Source: dev.to / 8 months ago
  • How to keep up with your work
I use taskwarrior at the beginning of the week. I create a task for each deliverable with a due date, then I create a bunch of subtasks that my deliverable depends on to accomplish. I add all these subtasks to a project with the same name as the deliverable task. Taskwarrior takes care of sorting the priority from there since this means subtasks are to be accomplished first which leaves studying tasks for the rest... Source: 8 months ago
  • Can you recommend a to-do/task app that allows me to *easily* set up tasks as "blockers" of other tasks, so I don't see blocked tasks until the blockers are taken care of?
I would recommend Task Warrior if you're okay with using CLIs. Source: 9 months ago
  • h-m-m: a terminal-based mind mapping tool
I can higly recommend Taskwarrior for terminal based todo management 😊. Source: 9 months ago
  • timetable or scheduler or something like rememberthemilk.com but offline ?

  • A plain-text file format for todos and check lists
Taskwarrior uses a pain text format and is excellent. It's my daily driver todo list. https://taskwarrior.org. - Source: Hacker News / 10 months ago
  • Private Productivity / Task managers?
I've had great success with using TaskWarrior to manage my tasks. Open-source and terminal-based, though I do use a terminal UI for it, which makes it even more user-friendly. Source: 11 months ago

You might also be interested in the excellent Bugwarrior [1] which syncs issues from a wide variety of issue trackers (JIRA is amongst them) [2] to your Taskwarrior [3] database. • What are some useful cli tools that arent popular?
Taskwarrior - Task tracker in your terminal. (task add "update internet") Not sure if famous or not. But not one of my acquaintances uses it on linux. It's magical for fast bug tracking (with a Quake console ofc). Source: 11 months ago
  • Terminal apps under Mac
Taskwarrior is a very feature-rich CLI time management app. Source: 11 months ago
