I have seen many videos where people use the Tasker app for automation. How is this different from Termux:Tasker app? Source: 7 months ago

There's an Android app called Tasker that is much more flexible and powerful. It allows you to set up rules that trigger actions based on the contexts of your choosing, including combinations of contexts (ie location + time). It's $3.50 in the Google Play store. It does not require rooting. It has a large user community and there are lots of "recipes" out there for accomplishing various things.... Source: over 1 year ago

This affects automation apps like Tasker and terminal apps like Termux which won't be able to run logcat commands with ease anymore, unless granted adb or root access to run logcat commands, which doesn't show the dialog and access is automatically granted. The tasker app in its recent beta v6.1.3-beta has added support to use adb or root for logcat commands, like run for Logcat Entry event, because of issues with... Source: over 1 year ago

Have you ever heard of Tasker I believe you can write a script using that to run only when a specific app is open on your phone. I don't know how involved you can get with it, but I know I've always wanted to play with it. It only works for Android but that's the device platform you mentioned in your request. An easy way to share links to your notebook through an Android device is to leverage Tasker with the AutoShare plugin, and choose an app like MQTT Client that comes with a Tasker integration. You may then create a new AutoShare intent named e.g. Save URL, create a Tasker task associated to it that uses the MQTT Client integration to send the message with the URL to the right MQTT topic. I also have a Note10+. My plan is to retire the note10 to a instrument cluster using cheaper clone of this mount and ScanMyTesla as well as Tasker. I haven't gotten the mount yet so don't know how well, or not, it will work yet. Source: over 2 years ago
You can configure several of these features using Tasker, but it does take some work. However, there should be guides available, if you just search for them, for example in the /r/tasker subreddit. Here's a guide on how to set up double tap as an event in Tasker to trigger whatever you like: https://www.reddit.com/r/tasker/comments/i1abqj/howto_double_tap_the_back_of_your_phone_as_a/.
