  • Has anyone tried Hidden City Ticketing, where you get off at your layover and don’t get back on? Have you tried getting back on during the layover at the end of the trip?
There is a website dedicated to finding fares this way. I haven't tried it, but a friend of mine used it for a trip of two and had no issues. - Source: Reddit / about 2 months ago
  • How is this possible? Why is this cheaper?
This kind of thing is incredibly common. In fact, it isn't that rare to find a flight with a connection that is cheaper that just the first leg of the flight on its own. The kid who created this website 15 years ago got sued by several airlines for using that fact to help people find cheaper tickets by booking a connecting flight and then just bailing on the second leg. Airlines also have... - Source: Reddit / about 2 months ago

  • Best time/website/app to search for Airfares in 2023?
The only one I'd add is if you have only hand luggage and need to travel internally in the USA, check to see if it's cheaper to book a connecting flight but leave the airport at the connecting airport rather than completing the connection. Don't do it too much though or they might notice a patten and ban you. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
  • Miss flight on purpose
OR use this website. It is called skiplagged. The idea is the following. When an airplane is flying from Milan to Singapore, with a layover in Zurich, it might be possible, that some people only use the airplane from Milan to Zurich, miss their flight, or the airline doesn't sell all the tickets. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago

  • Montana Snowmobiling Trip 2020
We decided that we would do a trip to Montana to go snowmobiling and do a mix of fun things from there. We booked tickets on and got the cheapest flights we could get. This trip was going to be a combined family trip where we had 3 boys coming with us. We had 5 people on this trip and when we got on the plane since we had a larger family group we were all over the plane not sitting together. We took... - Source: Reddit / 4 months ago

  • Layovers
It is called skip lagging, and it’s common to do for budget travelers. Airlines do not like it when you do that, but yes you can get off in Madrid and not continue on to your next flight. A couple things to note- if you do this, do not check luggage as that will continue on to your final destination without you, and don’t book this on a round trip ticket with the same airline, as they could cancel your return... - Source: Reddit / 4 months ago
  • first time trying to book a cheap flight
Https:// to find the flight then book through the airline. This will also make you aware of skiplag opportunities which other aggregators dont include in search results which can drastically reduce your cost (if you dont need to check baggage). • Discussion: how long in advance is the ideal to book flights?
So nearly all search engines use ITA matrix, including Google flights. it's simply that different websites favor certain parameters. Google flights is fast, powerful, and remains very neutral and is a good place to start. Kiwi will include skiplagged destination and have tremendously long layovers to favor the lowest prices and is a bigger search than - Source: Reddit / 6 months ago
  • Feedback on
It is always a risk but it just depends on how much you are saving. I usually use PlanMoreTrips and SkipLagged to find the cheapest prices but I will usually only book via 3rd party IF the price is way cheaper than booking directly with airline. - Source: Reddit / 6 months ago

  • A few years back someone made a site that would find cheap flights even if it meant trying off before the final destination. Is there still anything like that?
Yes the site is called SkipLagged. It is still up and running. You can usually get cheaper prices on there but you can only do a carry-on bag when you do that. I typically use that site, FlightPenguin, or PlanMoreTrips and almost 99% of the time those 3 sites find me cheaper fares than Google Flights or Kayak. - Source: Reddit / 6 months ago

Airlines hit back by invalidating people's return tickets. - Source: Reddit / 8 months ago

13 Best Skyscanner Alternatives to Book Travel
Skiplagged is one of those travel comparison sites that takes advantage of a loophole in airline ticketing. Not only does the website search for direct tickets, but also for “hidden-city” tickets that have a layover at your destination.
The 9 Best Skyscanner Alternatives To Book Cheap Travel has created an OTA like Expedia or Priceline to give people cheap tickets that can help find flights that use the concept of skiplagging. Be cautious when using these methods because Airlines frown upon people doing this, and you do not want to be blacklisted or have your frequent flyer program revoked.
10 Alternatives to Hipmunk
The pull of Skiplagged is that the travel search site utilizes an algorithm that brings up “hidden-city” flights in its search results. Hidden-city flights are multi-stop flights where the traveler exits into their intended city during a layover before the final destination of the journey, rather than buying a ticket explicitly to that city, allowing one to save a lot of money.
Skiplagged helps you find the cheapest flights possible, even if that means booking a ticket that has a layover in your destination city and not getting on the second flight. For example, say you wanted to fly from Boise, ID to Los Angeles, CA. Skiplagged found that a flight from Boise to San Diego that has a layover in Los Angeles is cheaper than flying from Boise to Los Angeles. While there are many cheap flight...
