  • Phishing fail
Red flag #1: There's no reason their domain should be in the To field or mine in the Reply-To field. Red flag #2: The email doesn't come from siteground.com Red flag #3: The From address misspells "postmaster" as "postmassr" Red flag #4: The aggressive tone - they're going to delete my domain in 48 hours? Please. Red flag #5: Weird English. "In the event of non-payment or ignorance." Red flag #6: The link... - Source: Reddit / 2 months ago
  • Using private email for author contact deets on article
It is fine to use a private email in this way. However, you might want to get your own domain just because it looks more professional. I have a domain set up through siteground.com that's my first initial and last name (e.g., bsmith for Bob Smith—obviously anonymized). My email address is [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]). It's clean, clear, short, and I retain control over the domain and server. - Source: Reddit / 4 months ago
  • How did everyone got smtp working? I asked in community, unfortunately, no one seems to respond. Is it a forbidden topic?
    I'm running this on siteground.com, it's a hosting company. - Source: Reddit / 9 months ago
  • SaaS php script and WordPress on the same server
The other comment implies this is messy and crappy. It's quite standard and has been for sometime. It's nowhere near messy. It's quite basic. Increasing the number of servers you have will increase your administration and if you're new this is not that advisable. HOWEVER, WordPress is well known for getting hacked. The plugins that you use may contain security vulnerabilities and you may end up getting hacked.... - Source: Reddit / 11 months ago
  • Updating older posts sends out an email to readers
I don't think you're understanding correctly. Wordpress.org and Wordpress.com are basically the same underlying platform except Wordpress.com charges you a bunch of money and restricts features, while Wordpress.org does not. With Wordpress.org you will have to find separate hosting (siteground.com as an example). - Source: Reddit / about 1 year ago
  • Why are most web hosting sites horribly designed?
Not all hosting websites are horribly designed at least for me , I find : hostgator.com siteground.com xtreamcoderz.com and some other really simple and beautiful. - Source: Reddit / over 1 year ago

  • Website Security Best Practices
I am in need of a professional that can secure a new WordPress site that is hosted on siteground.com. Is Fiverr an appropriate site to find a person that harden my server using best practices. This is beyond the scope of my expertise so I'm looking for someone I can trust to do this work. - Source: Reddit / almost 2 years ago
  • PLEASE stop using Blogger/Wix/Squarespace
As a hosting provider, I chose siteground.com, but I am not sure it s the best option. I do this just for fun, so I might be very wrong. You ll have to do your own research. - Source: Reddit / almost 2 years ago
