My ISP is Starry and I have approximately 200/200Mbps speeds via WiFi. I don't have anything hard wired, just an all-in-one modem/router provided by Starry. I have a small apartment, only about 700 square feet. I have a good number of various smart home devices connected to WiFi at any given time including: 6 Philips Hue lights, 3 cameras, 4 HomePod speakers, 2 Apple TV's in addition to 4x laptops, 2x phones, an... My apartment complex had some promotion on a provider called Starry when I moved in, they're giving me three months of 200mbs for free & $30/mo after that, so far it's been quite reliable. They gave me a $100 Amazon gift card too. I have no idea what their deal is or if this company can survive, but so far so good. Source: almost 2 years ago

I want to dump Comcast internet because of frequent outages. An attractive alternative in my city is Starry Internet. Starry has their own proprietary mode/wifi router. Does anyone know if Starry's hardware will work with the FG? Thanks. Source: over 2 years ago

Network Engineer here - Your options in UA are WOW, Spectrum and AT&T U-verse. WOW has slightly better infrastructure than Spectrum, although their network has some congestion during peak times. 1Gbps service is available from both of the DOCSIS providers. AT&T U-Verse is vDSL, and tops out at ~30-50Mbps as it relies on the old Ma Bell copper plant installed in the 1950’s. I have heard rumors about a WISP... Source: over 2 years ago

How does SYOI overlap with the efforts of those https://www.meshcenter.org/ who are really trailblazing it in NYC and Baltimore. Also, is SYOI closer to what https://starry.com has deployed? Thanks. - Source: Hacker News / almost 3 years ago
If your on good terms with your landlord, you could check out https://starry.com which is fixed wireless but requires equipment to be installed on your roof. You could also check out Starlink, it’s still in beta but I know people in Redondo that have gotten invites. Source: about 3 years ago
Some neighborhoods have RCN, but I've seen mixed things about their reliability of late. Starry is another option in some apartment buildings. Source: about 3 years ago
