  • How to Build a Semantic Search Engine for Emojis
Since I discovered this, I’ve been making major use out of the feature. I add emojis into way more of my messages, blog posts, and other written works than I ever imagined I would. I actually got so accustomed to this means of adding emojis that I installed Rocket β€” a free app that brings the same emoji searchability to all text boxes and text editors on the computer. It’s a game changer. - Source: dev.to / 3 months ago
  • Can't use emoji shortcut in newest version of Arc
Though, just because I'm that guy, I do recommend using something like https://matthewpalmer.net/rocket/ to insert emojis. Makes life way easier. Source: 5 months ago
  • Inline emoji picker?
It really would! I currently use Rocket to provide this functionality, which works great system-wide, but if it were integrated into Raycast natively, that would be so much better. Source: 11 months ago
  • I created a lightning-fast emoji-picker inspired by Slack, compatible with all macOS apps.
What's the advantage on this over the OG Rocket? https://matthewpalmer.net/rocket/. Source: 12 months ago
  • A long list of problems with MacOS (and their potential solutions)
Haha yeah that is stupid. I personally I binded Rocket to ;; and I can do this now. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Are there any good emoji picker popups or alternatives to the built-in one for Mac, that can let me insert an emoji multiple times or different emojis? One that doesn't doesn't close automatically?
Rocket isn't exactly a "picker," but in my opinion, it's easier to use and works everywhere you'd want it to: It uses the text-replacement scheme you mentioned to trigger (Typing '::' or whatever you choose) it, but you don't have to remember the emojis: Once triggered, it provides a searchable UI to add any emoji you need. • Workflow incompatible?
You can also try giving Rocket a try. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Is there an app to facilitate the use of emoji in text?
Rocket is exactly that. Though it has some bugs. I paid for the upgraded version, which never worked, and the developer ignored my email. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. Source: about 1 year ago
  • App LIST!!!
Rocket (Free, but limited, need to pay for most of the features) Rocket is a free Mac app that makes typing emoji faster and easier using Slack-style shortcuts. Just start typing an emoji like  (πŸ‘) and Rocket will help auto-complete it – in any app! Plus, with Rocket Pro, you can add gifs, snippets, and symbols to your Rocket shortcuts. 🫒 -- It's how I added the emojis in the text .... Source: about 1 year ago
  • Windows User Since Birth. Finally Tried a Macbook! Any tips?
Rocket if you are in the apple ecosystem partially already with an iPhone, this is good for texting friends and family. Source: about 1 year ago
  • Text to emoji app (Like Rocket for OSX?)
Is there a comparable app for windows to turn text to emojis, like: https://matthewpalmer.net/rocket/. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Turn off colon to add emoji
I know Slack uses this feature but I don't see it anywhere in preferences for Bear or macOS system settings. Are you using an app like Rocket running in the background? I may be wrong but I'm hoping others can help clarify too. Source: over 1 year ago
  • πŸ™ƒ Free emoji utility to trigger the emoji search on " : "? (like Notion, for example)
I think you're looking for something like Rocket? Source: over 1 year ago
  • Your best recommendations for apps, which are not broadly known.
Rocket - You can search emojis with your specified prefix. Have setup mine so that its like discord, type  for πŸ˜„ or choose from the dropdown. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Drop your favorite Mac apps!
Rocket - slack/discord-like Emoji picker (type :emojiname to search for emoji) in all apps. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Tell HN: Never Trust 'Lifetime' Licenses
Rocket ($10) [0] is my current favorite emoji picker though sometimes it does drive me crazy (css properties in chrome dev tools and the like, I understand it's impossible to avoid, it still drives me crazy). Also there are emojis with spaces in the name but the picker just closes if you type a space so you have to add aliases to make them searchable. But overall it's a great tool and you can also use it to insert... - Source: Hacker News / almost 2 years ago
  • What are your favorite hidden gem Mac apps?
Other great apps I always use is Rocket, Rectangle, PastePal, NextDNS (more like a service than app), OpenIn, Overkill. Source: almost 2 years ago
  • Rocket equivalent for gifs?
I am using Rocket everyday and it is excellent for finding emojis. Rocket has gif functionality too but you have to upload your of gifs to use them. Source: about 2 years ago
  • Very new to macOS here would be great if you can please tell me how to use it efficiently. Might be stupid so please don't judge as this is the first time I am looking at macOS, yes I have even seen it before...
Theres a third party app called rocket that I would highly recommend. Source: about 2 years ago
  • App to organize commands
Why not use a text expander? Some of them offer auto completion and with a smart naming convention you could have a simple folder-like structure. I recently experimented with Rocket and it works nice (not only for emojis but code snippets too). Source: over 2 years ago
