  • Hello I am making this post because I am interested I'm UCF but I have no way of comparing their financial aid summary to USF. USF is offering me 32k in merit based scholarships distrusted through 4 years, not including bright futures. Would this be lower or higher at ucf?
If you are strongly considering USF, check out the raise.me site where you can earn micro scholarships for different things like grades, perfect attendance, volunteering...Not every college participates but USF does so if you want a little extra money, it's a good way to get it. You can also send UCF your scholarship package offered by USF and see if they will come close to it. Have you even applied/been... Source: about 1 year ago
  • How do you all afford this school?
If you reported the raise.me before you got your finaid offer, they may have initially wanted to give you 20k in grants but they give you 18k in grants and 2k in raiseme instead. Source: over 1 year ago
  • How do you all afford this school?
As far as I know, all my merit and raise.me stacked when I got my aid package. Whichever ones they choose to award you get applied, but don't quote me 100% on this. I'd try emailing the financial aid office to make sure though. Source: over 1 year ago
  • Should I even bother filling out raise.me?
My school counselor encouraged us to fill out our profile for raise.me last year to the junior class, but only two of my schools do micro-scholarships & I feel like they'd probably give scholarship offers larger than this anyway based on my stats. I guess it's mostly just the tedious work of typing up my transcript getting to me because I already had to do this twice. Thoughts? Source: over 1 year ago
  • A few questions about FIU
Onto your questions. No, dont pay the $200 deposit. Call them and ask what they want you to do. Yes, FIU accepts raise.me. If your merit tuition scholarship is $1,500 a year, and your raise.me is $2,500 a year, it is likely that what they will do (usually) is replace the merit scholarship with the raise.me microscholarships. As such, instead of $4,000 a year (combined sum), you'll probably get the $2,500 a year.... Source: about 2 years ago
  • Financial Award Letters @ FIU
Damn... should've known considering their raise.me deadline is all the way in March! Jesus christ :(. Source: about 2 years ago
  • The Case For Northeastern CS (and the university as a whole) - an experience / pros & cons list told by a current NEU junior
Finances. There are so many ways that Northeastern allows you to get a cheaper tuition that literally no one should be paying a full price for the university. Raise.me is a site that allows you to gain micro scholarships but small things like getting an A in a class or winning an award, and these micro scholarships slowly build up; in my case I ended up getting 10k off a year but since my deans scholarship was... • there are so many scholarship opportunities... which have helped you?
I haven't used going merry and cappex, but I used raise.me for NYU and they added a bit more than $8,000 to my scholarship. And it was for 4 years so I basically got $32,000 total from just entering my grades, sat and ap test scores. I know 8,000 a year doesn't pay everything but it's still very nice. I haven't tried it with any other schools though. Source: about 3 years ago
  • how do y'all afford this school
Scholarships/ full ride ( using raise.me , getting a 4.0 cumulative gpa etc). Source: about 3 years ago
  • Micro-Scholarship
A friend recently reminded me of this resource and in seeing a few financial-aid related questions on this sub lately, thought I would share. When I was a high school senior, I found out about raise.me - it is a website where you can apply for some micro-scholarships based on high school achievements (coursework, extracurriculars, community service, test scores, etc.) and was a very easy process from what I... • Raise.Me is it actually a good way to earn scholarship money?
Hi! I was just wondering if anyone has gotten money from raise.me or even if it legit. I was going to sign up but thought that I might hop on here just to see if anyone has any bad or good experiences with the app! Source: about 3 years ago
