Pywal is used to get the colorscheme from my wallpaper for my browser and terminal. left: neovim, top right: qutebrowser, bottom right: cava. - Source: dev.to / 6 months ago
I am on Arch Linux and I am using pywal to generate a colour palette from my wallpaper, which I then use throughout my system. In particular, I have a bash script which grabs these colours and uses them for polybar. The problem is that sometimes these colours do not have enough contrast, and the bar is hard to read. Is there any tool that would allow me to check the readability of my colours, and modify them... Source: 10 months ago
Have you tested https://github.com/dylanaraps/pywal on its own? Source: about 1 year ago
There’s a program called pywal that has pretty decent instructions on getting the themes it generates to be used by various programs. Pywal GitHub repo. Check out the wiki on that page. Source: about 1 year ago
I'd definitely look into pywal for that, it's like a colorscheme manager that fills in templates (some already implemented but it also supports user templates) from either a color scheme you define or by color picking an image. Source: about 1 year ago
Pywal also has its own themes. https://github.com/dylanaraps/pywal. Source: about 1 year ago
Pywal and wpgtk would be nice for desktop theming! Source: about 1 year ago
You could use a utility like pywal to help with this. Source: over 1 year ago
However, I also feel that it is important to state that the .Xresources file located in your home directory isn't the only way to add a value to the xrdb (Xresources database). Plenty of other applications such as pywal can be used to contribute to xrdb. I use pywal as a way of choosing my color scheme from a big library of different themes, which makes it easy to change my systems color scheme. Source: over 1 year ago
You can also use pywal which generates a colorscheme based on an image. Source: over 1 year ago

I use https://github.com/dylanaraps/pywal to generate new colors based on my wallpaper. That way polybar (and i3/rofi) always match my wallpaper. Source: over 1 year ago
Interesting! it'll be nice if it can apply the colors to the config like pywal, for instance. Source: over 1 year ago

I originally wrote this so I could set my MacOS Accent and Highlight colors to a wallpaper palette generated from pywal but as a side effect it's also made color handling from the commandline much easier. Source: about 2 years ago
There are a bunch of tools that generate color schemes for other tools based on a template of their configs. For example pywal is a popular one: https://github.com/dylanaraps/pywal But pretty much every major scripting language like JS, ruby, etc. Has their own take on the same idea. Base16 is another popular one with a ton of implementations: https://github.com/chriskempson/base16. - Source: Hacker News / about 2 years ago
