For selfhosted I would normally point you to Pastey BUT it lacks the password feature you want so I think this leaves you with PrivateBin but will follow with interest :-). - Source: Reddit / 27 days ago
We're using a self-hosted instance of https://privatebin.info/ - with this tool you never store plaintext on your systems and the server doesn't see unencrypted paste contents. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago

I know about privatebin and cryptpad projects. They both provide (at least it is an option) zero-knowledge file hosting. For example, privatebin server doesn't know the contents of my paste, only my friend with a link can open this file. The link itself is a decryption key. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago

If you have code that's sensitive, for assignments or whatnot, then you're free to either obfusicate it or use something like privatebin.info so it deletes itself after a specific amount of time. - Source: Reddit / over 1 year ago
At the end of the day, you're posting unencrypted raw text online, so you should assume everything posted is on the internet forever. But there are so many pastebin services available and it's a popular tool used by IRC (open protocol that encourages decentralization) so it's hard to imagine there isn't one that is particularly privacy-friendly for raw texts (PrivateBin seems promising but it requires encryption). - Source: Reddit / over 1 year ago
