OK, I did some research trying to find out which is the official and "safe" version of Popcorn Time as there are a few (or at least 2 major ones).
getpopcorntime.is is the first result on Google when you search for "Popcorn Time" (as of now). It has about 2 times the traffic as well. I guess due to being the first search result.
However, popcorntime.sh is supposed to be the official version according to [the reddit group](reddit.com/r/PopCornTime) and the official github repo.
I'm giving 4 stars due to the confusion and the potential scam around it.

There's an iOS version, it's just that it's from the popcorntime.app domain and we have to use the popcorn-ru.tk version now, which sadly doesn't seem have an iOS app. Source: over 2 years ago

The problem your describing only happens when your not using the latest dev build #456 atm you can't just go to whatever version and expect it to work lets me guess you downloaded this from popcorntime.app and it has millions of problems and well we know that is why we ditched it so now I want you to delete the current version of Popcorn-Time and go to...
