  • “Click-to-cancel” rule would penalize companies that make you cancel by phone - Canceling a subscription shouldn't be harder than signing up, FTC proposal says.
It was actually Plaid who was asking for your login. There is some evidence they pull your whole banking history and sell it. - Source: Reddit / about 10 hours ago
  • Building a clone of RocketMoney/Lunch Money/Copilot - is it recommended to store bank transactions, or to strictly read from third parties like Plaid on demand?
This feature is grouped into the "non-persistent" storage requirement group. As I see it, I don’t have a need to persist the financial account balance data, as it’s something that will be needed only on-demand. So for this feature, I can just fetch the data on demand from a provider such as Plaid.com, inject the data into an email template, send, and forget. - Source: Reddit / 9 days ago
  • Is there an app or website which will allow me to see/filter/search all past transactions on debit without needing to download my statements?
Lendingtree.com offers a feature that checks multiple cards and shows your current balance, but not necessarily your actual transaction. Their backend is https://plaid.com/ which now apparently has an API so that anyone can do this? - Source: Reddit / 21 days ago
  • API to fetch transactions of bank accounts, integrating with many banks?
Plaid is the most widely used one and sadly there's no good global alternatives that are cheap. - Source: Reddit / 21 days ago
  • API to fetch transactions of bank accounts, integrating with many banks?
I know about plaid.com, but I've read they have a significant minimum monthly fee. We are only looking to support ~50 customers for the beginning and can't spend a bunch of money on fixed-cost expenses. - Source: Reddit / 21 days ago
  • Integration with plaid? Alternatives?
Are there any plans for integrating Revolut with plaid.com for use in financial apps such as Mint? I know Revolut operates in the US as a Metropolitan Commercial bank partner so I guess that's the problem? Are there any apps like Mint in the US that actually support Revolut? - Source: Reddit / about 1 month ago
  • Need A Different Kind Of Money Tracking App
You are not wrong. It is a risk. I worked at Acorns and other financial tech startups as a software developer. Pretty much all these applications use https://plaid.com as their means to connect. Their security is good. However, to your point, there is no guarantee. Having worked with their api, it’s a risk I am willing to take. - Source: Reddit / 2 months ago
  • Starting off 2023 strong by creating an app geared towards churners
Maybe you already know about this but give https://plaid.com/ a look if you want to integrate spend tracking. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
  • Are there any credit cards with decent APIs? I'm looking for a card that has the ability to access my current balance and use the card lock feature via an API.
This is probably not completely what you are hoping for, but I looked too and could not find any proper ways. Most of the banks require you to be a verified business to access their data. I've heard Plaid is not that strict in their approvals, but I personally do not want a fintech company like Plaid to sell my data. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
  • Banking API suggestions
Plaid is the industry standard and is free for up to 100 credentials: https://plaid.com/. - Source: Reddit / 4 months ago
  • Salvageable hope for ACH and USD ftxus users
Is there a way to see pending transfers? Maybe plaid.com? (I don't have an account, though). - Source: Reddit / 4 months ago
  • bank account linked on FTX.us. What is the risk and how to solve?
Go to plaid and disconnect the link from your bank. Do it quick and avoid drain your bank funds away. Their website is on the hackers hand now and any minute your information likely be stolen and traded in black market. - Source: Reddit / 4 months ago
  • Banks that sync dependably
I've contacted both supports several times but it seems like it's an issue at the Plaid level somewhere, and neither Wealthfront or Monarch have been able to fix it. I'm considering switching banks just to get this working, but I don't want to go through that effort if the new bank is going to be just as much of a problem. Does anyone have a bank that works solidly, or any that I should avoid? - Source: Reddit / 5 months ago
  • instant pay
Plaid is the third party authentication system for most payment system that connects an app with financial data (I.e. PayPal, or a Gig app for work etc.) to a safe platform to monitor activities and transactions Https://plaid.com/. - Source: Reddit / 6 months ago

  • Gemini UK Customers can now use Plaid to connect their bank accounts
Me neither - but I do like the thousands of banking integrations Plaid has as well as the Samsung partner callout on the plaid homepage. https://plaid.com/. - Source: Reddit / 8 months ago

  • MAJOR UPDATE: We Own The Float... Now Let's Prove It (Part 2)
Plaid partners with brokers to help 3rd party apps work safely and securely without having to give sensitive information to said 3rd party apps. If your broker is listed, it means they are partnered with plaid. Plaid is a very well known and reputable company, hence why nearly every major Broker/Bank in America is partnered with them. I understand your concerns and ultimately it is your own choice, but if you'd... - Source: Reddit / 10 months ago
