From what I've read, those files are Apple File System clones and not really duplicates. I have previously shared folders from my personal OneDrive with another single person. Basically go to onedrive.live.com, go into the folder and choose SYNC to get it to show in File Explorer. It also deletes local copies of those files if you are low on disk space or a specific file wasn't open for a long time by Windows Explorer.
