Actually OBDEleven (https://obdeleven.com/) is a specific VAG type OBD2 device that allows you to do other things then just code scanning. Like suggested in this thread you can do maintenance changes, as well as other things like long coding adaptions, and other extras that a typically ELM327 or the average OBD2 /OBDii device will not do. It might be worth getting the ODBEleven for so many other small tweaks that make the car better - or more how you might like it. https://obdeleven.com/en/. Source: over 1 year ago

If you're technical or know somebody who is then you can get one of these; https://obdeleven.com/en/ and do some coding on the car to enable it. Source: over 1 year ago
Any VW-approved diagnostic tool can recode the battery. Allegedly (I haven't personally had need to try it yet) the ODBEleven (https://obdeleven.com/en/) can do so. It IS incredibly silly that you need a specialized tool to code the new battery, but unfortunately that's the direction the auto industry seems to be going. - Source: Hacker News / over 1 year ago

Get an ODB tool like ODBEleven and unlock some cool features your car might not have, you can get an idea of them here: https://obdeleven.com/en/ (they are called apps). Source: almost 2 years ago
You noted about Bluetooth possible post factory. Checking the software programming using an OBDII unit linked to smartphone would be a good start depending on your comfort level: https://obdeleven.com/en/ is one unit, there are others. Source: about 2 years ago
Karma, Quantum Mechanics, and Autohaus are some other options for you. If you're at all handy the things you mentioned could be done with a couple hand tools. You can also buy some basic diagnostics OBDII connectors and use software like OBDEleven or Carista. Source: about 2 years ago
My Golf didn't have that standard but it can be programmed in via an OBDEleven. Source: about 2 years ago
Get yourself or find a VW/Audi buddy with a VCDS or an OBDeleven. Source: about 2 years ago
I would head over to dedicated car coding forums, and/or pick an app that has a good community around it (I just found this, I’m not affiliated: https://obdeleven.com/en/) You can benefit from there experience/mistakes. I wouldn’t worry about the warranty too much, if it works, you just undo it before it goes into service so it’s not noticed. If it doesn’t the geeks in the forums will love to help. There will be... OBDEleven is another option but I've never used it and not sure if it's full capabilities. It works through your phone instead of a laptop so much more convenient. Https://obdeleven.com/en/. Source: about 2 years ago
Good luck with yours, though. And get OBDeleven - it's a handy tool to diagnose what's up with your car and fiddle with settings, enable some bits etc. Worth the investment. Source: about 2 years ago
No, OBDEleven is a product for VW vehicles that lets you scan and code via the OBD2 port. Source: over 2 years ago
Regarding scan tools. There are cheaper, and more user friendly options, than VCDS. The most popular ones are OBDEleven, Carista, and Carly. Generally, any of those three alternatives would cost you on average as much as one-hour visit to the mechanic. Source: over 2 years ago
It can be done with OBDEleven, but it supposedly also disables the car alarm from functioning if someone were to break in. Source: over 2 years ago
So, I started looking at OBD2 readers, and got a bit lost. I know there are some 'nice' ones like OBDEleven: Https://obdeleven.com/en/. Source: over 2 years ago
