I did some digging and found out that the most popular neobank, Monzo, in the UK came to the US and it seems incredibly promising! As a larger and more established Neobank, they are much less likely to sell out to big corporations (RIP Simple and One). They seem to have a lot of similar ideas One had and are even working on adding more, all based on live input from their users. The website is ... - Source: Reddit / 5 months ago

  • Tier 5 YMS - Driving, banking, and general arrival Q's (Canadian)
Not 100% on your driving question, but in terms of banking, getting an account with a regular bank means you need proof of identity and also proof of address. This can be a utility bill, but you can't pay a utility bill unless you have a bank account! My suggestion would be to set up a Monzo account. You download the app and upload some ID, then they send you a debit card. My partner (also a Canadian!) then used... - Source: Reddit / over 1 year ago
  • (UK) Trying to find an online bank offering multi-card accounts with good exchange rates
Monzo, seems to have good exchange rates to multiple currencies, but only supports 1 card per account (I asked support). Also, account management sucks as it's app only. • HSBC wont let me deposit my savings.
Why not look into getting a new, more modern account with a different bank? The challenger banks are doing well for good reason - better features, better customer support, no annoying branches or hours on hold. The main reason for me - MUCH better banking Apps, with instant push notifications of every transaction. The old time banks just can't compete. Plus I regularly have transactions of 10k in and out of my... - Source: Reddit / over 1 year ago
