A crypto coin is simply a digital coin, created for making payments. Coins are created to act like money: in other words, they represent a unit of account, store of value, and medium of transfer. Crypto coins tend to take the form of their native blockchain, like with Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Litecoin (LTC) and Monero (XMR). Source: about 1 year ago

Copy and past from coinmarketcap: "Overall, there will eventually be a total of 18.4 million XMR in circulation — and this cap is expected to be reached on May 31, 2022. After this, miners will be incentivized using “tail emissions,” with a small amount of XMR being fed into the system every 60 seconds as a reward. It is believed this approach is more effective than relying on transaction fees.". Source: over 2 years ago

A few I have gone through: https://web.getmonero.org/ , https://moneroworld.com/#nodes , https://miningpoolstats.stream/monero , as well as a few articles on sites like coinmarketcap, cryptonews, and this subreddit (for which I take everything with a grain of salt lol).
