What is everyone's potential alternative to MemotoMe? I feel so lost without it. I've been using it forever. I keep hoping it will return but in the meantime, any ideas? Thanks!

Hi Debi, I don't know if you have found an alternative yet, but I'm now using the calendar widget on my Samsung phone. It takes a bit of studying at 1st, but it does everything Memotome did. You can either get a text or email, with a reminder anytime before, (I use a week before) If you have a different phone I'm sure they will have an alternative. I tried loads before finding this one, and this is by far the best. Good luck

Thanks, Carol. I've been using Google Calendar. It's the same thing, you can set it up as an email or notification. I don't USE my gmail account for email so I just forward all the mail to my regular email provider and it works like a charm! I tried a few other things on my iPhone, etc. and this works great for me. I can set up as many reminders as I want for a single item. I still miss MemoToMe though. It was a good run.

Hi Debi, I've just spent ages putting all my reminders on Alexa Show. It's quite good when you get used to it. You can do all the same things that you do on MTM but obviously you don't get an email, but you get a box on your computer screen which stays until you dismiss it. Or you can have Alexa announce it like other reminders. It will do until MTM comes back on (hopefully!!)

I started using Rainlendar. Its a desktop app. Its a wonderful thing I've come to find out in the last few days of toying with it. Alerts on desktop, not by email or SMS. Works for me.

I think you will still be able to do reminders on the Echo. The "Show" bit is just the model name.

I downloaded the Alexa app for PC and found out I can't use it without a microphone, which I don't have. Alexa Echo is about 6 feet from me, I don't need a microphone for that. But, you can't even set up the Alexa for PC without having a microphone, so that idea is out for me. Worth a try though.

Thanks so much for the info, Carol. I sincerely appreciate it. I also emailed admin@memotome.com and support@memotome.com I'm sure others have as well but they have NEVER responded in the past. I'm thinking maybe something happened to the developer? I'm still hoping it returns and I will be happy. It's been like an addiction we've had and didn't realize how much we were dependent on it, LOL.

Memotome hasn't worked for me since June, '23. I've tried to open a new account with another email address but no luck. My provider is Spectrum. Does anyone have any insight as to what's going on? I have to think Spectrum is now somehow incompatible with memotome. But good luck getting anywhere with support, they seem to have no idea and no interest in looking into it.

I would really like to check it out as soon as its online. Also will note same as you below, all I need myself is the emails, not interested in SMS.

It has cost me money twice so far with the memos being down. The first time I thought I had to have done something wrong because the service has never failed me. Unfortunately I see it isnt working properly..and I missed another memo that caused me to miss cancelling a subscription that I needed to cancel. Any good alternatives yet? I love the customization of reminders before the event itself the most. The way you can just sign in and see the events that you have in chronological order is great. The fact that you can see/and reuse your disabled memos are also key to why I like the service.

I've tried several alternatives, all seem to me missing the "warning reminder" This was a key feature for Memotome. Also the simple interface that lists each event in chronological order. All of the alternatives have a calendar type interface and it is hard to view the reminders in one place. I don't need another calendar, just a reminder. Google Calendar seems to work, but it will only send a reminder to your gmail address, so no way to send a reminder to my work email, home email etc. Also, most alternatives have a "event" with a duration, often as long as 1-hour. Because this is added to your calendar. I don't need an event, just a reminder, for example a "reset password" reminder does not need a calendar event with a 1-hour duration.

None of them are easy to navigate, MTM is so easy to use. Just set your reminder, Once only, Daily, weekly etc, save and you get emails (inc warning emails a few days before if you want.) I haven't found one alternative that comes close to MTM. If you set up a similar thing that would be great. Carol

I'm sad that Memo-to-Me isn't working. I thought it was on my end until I found this page and see that other people aren't getting reminders. I really like this program and am kinda lost without it. I've been missing all sorts of reminders because I've come to rely on it. YES please someone made a similar reminder program. I find it very easy to just type in my message in the space provided, set the date/time, and check who I want the messages to go to. I use Memo to Me in my dog boarding business, so I can set a reminder for both my client and myself. I also show dogs, so I like that I can set reminders for numerous people on things like closing dates for shows. I like the ability to set re-occuring reminders by the week, month or year. It's just an easy tool to use. I also do more than send reminders; for example for the boarding, it's not just a date/time reminder, but I have the ability to send a rather long message with instructions on arrival, rates, etc. I WANT MEMO TO ME BACK!

Yes-for example if I have a group of people I need to meet at about the same time, I can give them the schedule and also include details and even directions. Sure you could send an email, but you’d have to remember. I travel a lot so would set these reminders up way in advance

Thanks. Yes, that makes sense. My impression so far is that MemoToMe is more useful when it comes to notifying groups of people instead of personal memos. As personal memos could be facilitated quite easily by a lot of other utilities - e.g. a Calendar app.

Thanks Debi. As I've shared on this thread. I'm considering building an alternative. That's why I'm trying to understand the various use-cases that people love and what exactly people can't find in alternatives. Is it the fact that these are email notifications/reminders or the fact that you can send them to a group of people? For example, personally, I use my calendar app for recurring reminders about birthdays, anniversaries or clubs/meetups.

Stan, my friends and I use it for the email notifications/reminders. doctor's appts, water the flowers, birthdays, send a card, cleaners are coming every Wed at 10am. You can also set up for yearly, daily, weekly, monthly, every hour, every few weeks etc. and have notifications sent to our emails. We never did group emails. Seeing that email pop-up reminding us to start dinner or take food out of freezer, take meds, whatever is a great help. When did I balance my checkbook? It's right there to remind me.I've used my iPhone Calendar and a few others and it's just not the same, at least not for my group of friends that used MemotoMe.

I've been playing with Simply-Remind-Me, and I find it much harder to use and less functional than Memo-To-Me is/was. For example, you can setup an event, but that doesn't do anything. You also have to setup a reminder. And if you want more than one reminder (easy to do in MTM) you have to set them up individually. Lots of busy-work to accomplish the same thing. I'd love to see a MTM re-build with a better UI but similar capabilities.

I think a few minutes trying to setup an event with reminders along with seeing the reminder e-mail that gets sent will give you some good ideas on what NOT to do. ;-) I don't know how to contact you privately (Discord would be good), but if you're serious about creating a replacement for MtM, I'd be happy to help you with design requirement, UI prototype review, alpha testing and such. 1) I've been getting an error whenever I try to reset my password for months. 2) Not getting any memo e-mail since mid June. I'm trying to find a similar site/app but none of them has de same features. Specially sending "Warning" reminders before the final one. Does anyone know an alternative as good as Memotome? Thanks.

I haven't received any email messages from MemoToMe since the last week in June. I love this program and miss it!

I haven't been able to log in for ages. The temporary password they sent me doesn't work. I do get my reminders but I can't create new memos or view those I have on the site.

Forgot password and tried multiple times to reset....keep getting Error 2F7D saying an error occurred in the secure channel support. Any ideas on what might work?

I am up this evening, too. I never received an email reply from the admin, btw. Definitely going to see if I can d/l all my reminders, just in case.

About an hour ago, I emailed admin@memotome.com, and it did not bounce, so that's a good beginning. Hopefully they'll reply with info, and I will post here if they do.

I'm getting my reminders that I've ready had set with memotome, but cannot log in or create new reminders. But they still are sending reminders that I have setup. Not sure why that works but cannotog in or do anything else? Let me know if you find out anything about them. Thanks Mark Resler

I'm not sure either, but clearly the whole place hasn't folded, or else we wouldn't be getting any reminders. I haven't heard anything yet, but I'll post if I do.

I can’t login, and I think it missed a reminder. I hope they fix it. Phone calendar reminders aside, I still use and like this service.

Although I haven't been able to login for 3 days, I AM still receiving reminders, (I did as recently as this morning). So... there's still some hope?

Status Check FAQ

  • Why our public status pages are better than others?

We rely on both automated checks and user reported issues.

  • How often do you check if a service is down?

If there are reported issues or interest in a specific service, we might check as frequently as every minute. However, we may check less frequently for services with less interest or fewer reported issues. For example, once every hour.

  • What is the best way to report an issue?

The easiest way to report an issue is to use the single-click light-yellow buttons at the top of this page. They represent the most common issues and are the fastest way to report an issue. Nevertheless, you can also use the 'Report an Issue' button or link at the top to report any issue you may have with the service. Also, you are more than welcome to use the comments box and discuss any tips, solutions or resolutions with the community.
