However if do have your heart set on the macbook make sure they have at least cleaned it out and repasted the CPU. It should take care of the overheating problem some what you can use like Mac's fan control to get a bit more cooling out of it https://crystalidea.com/macs-fan-control It's what I use on my 2012 mac book bro which is way older. - Source: Reddit / 6 days ago
I've run Apple Diagnostics built-in test and I got the infamous 4SNS/1/40000000: TH00-9.000 error. I already fixed the temperature problem by using this fan monitor software, even before I knew about this error. But I'm wondering if the random drive detection during the boot process might be related to this issue. If that was the case, should I apply this solution? Feels a bit extreme. And I will lose the SSD... - Source: Reddit / 23 days ago
59 here :) at rock solid 60fps mostly.. I use "Macs Fan Control" (https://crystalidea.com/macs-fan-control) because the original curve kicks in too late... Just play at 50% render scale... - Source: Reddit / about 2 months ago
Yeah I use this one, it's free: https://crystalidea.com/macs-fan-control. - Source: Reddit / about 2 months ago
MacsFanControl, Stats, and iStats are the most common ones. - Source: Reddit / 3 months ago
Stay as you are and install This set to cpu average temp. - Source: Reddit / 4 months ago
Trying macs fan control and sensei, which work fine until the fans go out of control. - Source: Reddit / 5 months ago
Alternatively, you can use software like Macs Fan control. - Source: Reddit / 5 months ago
Aside from that mess, I suggest using Macs Fan Control. It’s a free app that lets you specify what sensors you want your iMac fans to be linked too. The only downside is that the app has to be running to work, so the fans will still spin full blast up until the desktop loads. - Source: Reddit / 5 months ago
As you described, seems like its not like a graphics issue. So maybe it's throttling. Did you check the temperature? Download Mac Fans Control. There you will have the temp and you can put the fans to run always at "Full blast" what can make your game more stable. - Source: Reddit / 5 months ago
I recently reinstalled Windows 10 on my 2015 MacBook Pro 15" DG and thought I'd share. I found this article from Apple detailing how to update AMD drivers on Boot Camp. I went through the steps and it worked out just fine. No problems. I installed Macs Fan Control as well. I set the options to 30°C & 70°C for the GPU (left fan) & CPU (right fan). - Source: Reddit / 5 months ago
Definitely check out Macs Fan Control. You can set your thermals anywhere you like. The basic version is free and does all that I need it to do. I've been using it for a few years and have been really happy with it. https://crystalidea.com/macs-fan-control. - Source: Reddit / 6 months ago
Just a thought, but have you installed MacsFanControl to check if all the temperature sensors are reading properly? If, during a previous foray into the internals you didn’t reconnect everything back just the way it was, that might do it. - Source: Reddit / 6 months ago
You might have a cooling/heat exhaust issue. Apple Diagnostics can test the fan activity, and you can view the internal temperatures of various components using Macs Fan Control in addition to increasing the RPM manually if need be. Apple Diagnostics can also test the RAM but since it’s non-removable you could be looking at a logic board replacement out-of-warranty if there are issues found. - Source: Reddit / 7 months ago
Install fan control software (others may be available but this is what I used). - Source: Reddit / 7 months ago
If you really feel your machine is getting too hot for comfort, use something like this: https://crystalidea.com/macs-fan-control. - Source: Reddit / 7 months ago
Look at Macs Fan Control, useful to monitor temperatures and put fans to full speed in just two clicks :) Also Amphetamine is really cool. It keeps your Mac awake, among other useful features. - Source: Reddit / 7 months ago
Having said that, I have installed Macs Fan Control app, as I was using it previously on the 2013 Core i5 MacBook Air. The app may not really be necessary on the MacBook Pro, but it is still good to have: Https://crystalidea.com/macs-fan-control. - Source: Reddit / 8 months ago
Also check Activity monitor and look fro any run away processes pegging your CPU. Sometime you may need to micro manage your Fan speed using something like Macs Fan Control. https://crystalidea.com/macs-fan-control. - Source: Reddit / 8 months ago
I tried Macs Fan Control but it cannot turn off the fan, the lowest speed is 1200rpm. - Source: Reddit / 8 months ago
