  If you have an android phone (and thus lots of Google location data) you can use this instead: https://locationhistoryvisualizer.com/heatmap/ It's open source and somewhat customizable but more importantly it's a heatmap so you can see where you've been AND the relative frequency of you going there. • GMaps Timeline inacurrate when not in day view

  Does anybody have any ideas how to solve this issue? Maybe there is a way to create a heatmap in a tool like "Google My Maps" by manually exporting the data from the more detailed day view? I would also be open to other workarounds. Location History Visualizer seems to be based only on the inaccurate data from the month/year view. Source: about 2 years ago

• Saw someone else post about their location history that google has on them. Thought I'd check it out myself, it is fascinating.

  Takeout.google.com, sign in and it will complie all the data google has on you and send it to your email address. One of the files in the location history folder can be uploaded to https://locationhistoryvisualizer.com/heatmap/ and it will plot your data. Source: over 2 years ago

  Well, I use Google Maps every I go and along the way it saves your location history. You can download your Google Maps location history, even if you don’t use Google Maps, then your can take that data, and export it to a heat map generator, Location History Visualizer. Source: over 2 years ago
